We greeted the wolf and summoned her... she waited, with hooded eyes, calm yet pacing with obviously expectation.
Would marking the wolf with our own skilled hands, somehow tame her? Or would it simply give her the coat of fur of her true nature in which to dwell, to invite and tempt out the feral within.
With low guttural growl, stretched out supine on the table, the wolf bares her flesh willingly, surrendering to our (and indeed it's own) will.
Less than an hour later, blood spilt, flesh slowly torn asunder, the wolf arises..
Howl at the moon, beautiful creature.

Footnote:
Rachel outlined, Luisa began the shading, I shaped and completed. Next week we finish off the cutting, reinking where faded and filling in the gaps. Blood and black ink blends so well that eventually you begin to lose sight of the thing, which always requires a completion cutting for finishing touches. Then we shall sign it.
