Can be both good and bad.

I recently had a surface piercing on my upper back. Im pleased with the result and it's not been too sore.

I swim every day and normally tie my hair back even though it still always gets wet!

today I forgot my schrungie and so went in with my hair down. I swam about 8 lengths before noticing my piercing was really starting to hurt. At first I ignored it and carried on swimming but a few more lengths and I just had to stop. I tried to stand up in the shallow end but felt my head being yanked back. I put my hand back behind me and felt my hair had become entangled in the piercing.

Trying not to show my obvious discomfort I tried to unscabble my hair but it refused to budge. I tried going under the water to see if it would loosen that way but it remained firmly in place.

Eventually I had no choice but to ask this guy if he could help me. Unfortunately he didnt speak any English and he muttered something to me in Russian (I think) before calling his 2 friends over. They all had a go at trying to lossen my hair but kept shaking their heads and talking between themselves.

I had been looking at the roof of the swimming pool for a good 10 minutes by now. The swimming attendant had been observing what was going on through his glass office and came out to see if he could help. He was followed by the gym instructor and some guy that was signing up for membership. They tried to untangle me for another few minutes before persuading me to be released by a pair of scissors.

So today I had a hair cut in the swimming pool by the swimming attendant and assisted by 5 other men!

The tuft of cut hair is still stuck round the piercing and Danny will have to have a go at getting that off when he gets home.

I thought long and hard about having a surface piercing on my back. I didnt want it in a position that would disturb me when Im sitting back or laying down. I thought I had thought about all the ins and outs, but obviously not!

He only cut a couple of inches off. I couldnt believe he threw the hair into the pool after!
