Conscientious objectors? Conscripted or not. They chose. the only living boy in Newport...

No, the point is I believe you have a simplistic view of the world. They chose to fight. They saw what was happening, and conscripted or not, they chose. I chose to become a member of Anti-Facist Action and the Anti Nazi League in the 1990's because of the facism I saw in the UK. I chose to disrupt BNP meetings and marches. I chose to go to the Poll Tax marches, I chose to fight for those who wouldn't or couldn't. I got assaulted by facists because their views are so repugnant to me I (we) took the fight to them. I run a website dedicated to ending the 'Information State' because I believe it is part of a repressive regime in this country. Please, sit back in your chair, and stay the armchair pundit while the world crumbles around you. I work as a psychotherapist, I have two gulf war veterans as clients suffering PTSD, don't even go there with the horrors of war. You know nothing. My grandfathers both fought in the war. My great-grandfather fought in the Boer war, please, don't patronise me with a simplistic argument. Hitler had to be stopped true, but firstly his own people should have stood up, I don't buy the 'I was only following orders' which works for the German army and those who were conscripted. If you fought fair play to you, it must have been horrific and unless you were there, no-one can imagine it, not even come close. It's all about personal responsibility. My original point is that I asked no-one to die for me. Just like I didn't ask Jesus to die for my sins (despite what the bible-bashers would have us believe) just like I didn't ask for this country to go to war in Iraq, just like so many other decisions that were allegedly done in my name. And by your simple defence why aren't you campaigning because through race, sexuality, religion millions are still oppressed on a daily basis. And what are you doing...? But frankly I couldn't give a fuck about your response.

I didn'tdream that this would elicit such an emotional response - but I'm 100% with redandy on this one folks - and I can't say that I understand anyone who's not. CD

Well...
My friends and I were flashed quite recently, outside of a KFC no less. I naturally found it disgusting, let the police know and moved on. I sincerely hope the offender got the help he needs. I'd have done the same if it was female. Exposing yourself to someone who in all likelihood doesn't want to see the goodies, is not only 100% illegal but irresponsible and quite frankly, a little bit sick. As for the book, eh.. I can't see any reputable publishing company touching it with a barge pole.

I think there's a world of difference between blatant 'flashing' (which I also find quite sick) and 'accidental' brief and barely glimpsed exposure of an inner thigh or similar - that's really quite erotic to me... |
