I have to say I'm not a theatre goer. My parents took me to see the Grumbleweeds, 'ello 'ello and Run for your Wife when I was young. Now the first two I'd seen on TV and so I kind of knew what to expect, although the child crying out “Where's Sooty.” Every ten minutes after the Grumbleweeds had used Sooty in a sketch was unexpected by everyone, although he made a special appearance at the end for his fan.
Run for your Wife I can't remember. I do remember being dragged along to it and actually finding it more enjoyable than I thought, but none of the above has ever inspired me to go to the theatre. So then one day I'm asked to join the Mercy crew and go along and meet various new people including Alliander and amaranth. They were passing out flyers for some show that I didn't know much about and didn't go and see. However over the months I got to know them and unfortunately Mercy came to an end but we still kept meeting up at the Liverpool Munch.
And then came their next project, a play with the intriguing name of I Found Her Tied to my Bed. So this time I decided to go along and support my friends and see what this theatre lark is all about. And I have to say I really enjoyed it. There was a dark sense of humour in it, which I found funny and so did quite a few others. So a positive experience.
And so last night found me heading into Liverpool to see their latest performance. I'd been told it was a comedy and that there was audience participation and that there are various ways it can go. However I still had no idea exactly what it was about other than it was about 'Adventures in Dating'. And so I sat back and relaxed and waited to see what would happen.
I have to say it was a bloody good show. The start has you waiting expectantly, which is what it's designed to do but you don't have to wait long until you are laughing. I won't go into too much detail but everything revolves around a date between amaranth and H's characters. Alliander also has a role in the show as the waiter and I have to say, I he kind of steals the show, in some ways kind of literally as well. His role allows him some freedom to adlib and ham things up a bit, which kind of reminded me of Tim Curry and Alan Rickman going to town on a role. But all the characters are great and make you laugh. And with the audience participation you kind of control the way the show goes. Although that got me wishing I'd gone to see it earlier as well then I could have tried to see if it would play out a different way. Is there a route that brings the kebab into play?
Ok I might be biased as they are friends but even so I had a great time and a good laugh and I definitely recommend going to see this show if you can. They are doing Warrington on Friday the 3rd of November if you can make it. It'll be worth it.

Really glad you enjoyed it, hon
And yes, there are two scenes that bring the kebab into play, so maybe you should come and see it in Warrington too I'm not good or real, I'm evil and imaginary.

Might do that, but might have to be the first show if I'm going to Nem that night. Evanescence, Bad Taste Bears, Liverpool Munch, is back. It's here as well LM
