Is it just me who finds this news report a tad worrying...
Bio scanners check pupils' meals
A school in West Yorkshire is using biometric scanners to allow parents to check if their children are choosing healthy options at lunchtime.

Hi shullie, Yes this news is a bit worring but I guess not that surprising - Big Brother seems to have an impact on everyones life now and now they are just looking for younger victims. Best Wishes Curious_Sub

i work in a high school in west yorkshire and we have a swipe card facility , this reduces the waiting in line for money to be exchanged but is also a daily record of what the child has eaten ....so yep i suppose BB is at a school near you Master under Your hand my lessons are taught, my heart soars, my souldeepens, my tears are brushed aside, my mind grows, my submission flourishes,my serenity exists,my body blooms, the woman in me is discovered. ~smiles~ to Him

Our high school has that, and i was actually quite pleased as the TeenagerFH was verging on aneroxia , so i rubbed my hands in glee. Then she started going to the shops instead. I wasnt very happy about that, and discussed why i wasnt happy (ie not eating properly, kids being complained about, not being in schools care, what if there's an accident etc), but she came up with a sensible answer for everything. Save i cant check that she IS eating. The receipts only materialise half the time, but i cant nag too much, as there are more "pressing" worries, so if i could see she was eating properly at lunch, it would be one less worry. On the whole im so very against any invasion of privacy, but when it comes to children, i think their safety supercedes that. And in the case of 13 year old nightmares it's definitely a good idea lol. Especially if you live in Rotherham..
