Let me start by saying that my heart goes out to the family of Jane Longhurst. They have my every sympathy.
But the current legislation that has been put into place as a result of this is nothing more than an ill thought out 'knee-jerk' reaction. Simple as that.
I am a firm believer in doing what is possible to stop serious crime, but criminlising images of consentual BDSM is not going to do this. All it will result in is an invasion of people's civil libities and criminalisation of thier human rights. What right does a government have to dictate to me that i cannot view/ engage in acts of consentual BDSM.
The laws that were passed in the wake of Dunblaine and Hngerford have done nothing to curb the gun and knife crime in the country, neither have any of the police amnesties. Similarly, the only effect this law will have it to incriminate huge numbers of people for viewing consentual BDSM.
