For those who are interested in the wonderful weekend that Ally and I had...
Here is Ally's Blog

Lounging around
Taking a rest
Mmmm cocktails
Having a ball!
It was just a wonderful weekend filled with so many treats that Ally so very much deserved. The hardest thing was trying to make our minds up about what to do out of the hundreds of things we really really wanted to experience.
I think we did pretty well with all the things we managed to get round - my head is still reeling with everything we experienced.
The Hotel was beautiful. The room was beautiful and very comfortable, bit on the big side too! The service & food was scrummy (I'll totally deny eating way too much). (((Note to Tony - we would have drunk the whole mini-bar as instructed but it was empty!)))
Phantom was totally fantastic - the set, the costumes, the music, the singing...just loved every moment of it. Ally and I kept nudging each other and grinning all the way through. Though Ally did laugh a little too hard at me every time I jumped at the startling noises!
Tate Modern was well worth the visit. It was great to walk there across the Millennium bridge, weird that it was totally silent half way across where the sound of traffic did not reach us. The building was fantastic, the scale quite hard to take in. The art within caused loads of healthy debate between us, conversations ran into the evening. Though I have to say most of it was lost on me, there were some pieces that really captured my imagination.
Afternoon tea at Fortnum & Masons was something I will never forget. Who would have thought Ally & I could manage to be so lady-like for so long!?! The atmosphere & service were out of this world & something that it would not take very much to get used to at all.
Saturday night we went to see BENT. The first time in a long time I had seen a serious play & what a wonderful play it was. The acting, lighting & emotion just blew us away. It was amazing how much humour and travesty could be placed side by side and work so well. Ally and I were almost speechless as we left the performance...It was just so good!
All in all we were out and about for some 13 hours on Saturday and really did collapse into bed (not after we both soaked aching feet in a well deserved bath).
It is pretty hard to express gratitude to those involved in raising funds for this weekend away for Ally. I was truly touched that she invited me to go with her, as I'd never have a chance to experience such things otherwise.
Most importantly I wanted to try and get across to those involved in the fund raising how much this weekend helped to boost Ally over the last weeks. At low or sad times, you just needed to mention the weekend away in London to her and her face lit up & she was re-energised. Money really can't buy happiness - but it sure helps at times!
Thanks to all who contributed - but mostly to Ally for being more amazing than she will ever know.
