The slides are a great idea, but are now so popular that the Tate is operating a booking system to use them. My friends this week had to collect their own tickets in person on the day, for use in a predetermined time slot later that day. The Tate website says that "due to extremely high demand, visitors arriving after midday are unlikely to obtain tickets for the slides on Levels 3, 4 and 5." The Tate's page of information is here.

Coooool. So how do we all meet in the day? Apparently it is a good idea to get there quite early for tickets to go on the big slide later on. Should we all meet outside the gallery and go in at some pre-determined time to get tickets? Then wander around the gallery/neighbouring entertainments? This is coming dangerously close to resembling a plan. Feed the Troll, buy stuff at www.crescentleather.tk - custom made leather and bondage accessories

Given how many of us there'll be, we probably want to try for a group booking beforehand, or at least "Hi, can you issue us with a dozen tickets in the same time slot, please?" Apart from anything else, I doubt everyone'll manage to turn up at or close to the same time, and as I recall they issue slots based on when you turn up. Also probably worth scoping out somewhere for lunch, too. I don't have any particular recommendations food-wise, but being right next to Borough Market there's a lot of options. As far as drinks are concerned, I'm told The Blackfriar is good, but not been there myself.

Ack, can't decide what to do on Saturday. I am going to be in London, but am probably too poor to come to everything, and being a wimp about going to Hades for the first time without T. It is far easier for a woman to lead a blameless life than it is for a man; all she has to do is to avoid sexual intercourse like the plague. -- Angela Carter |
