To Flora ... your thoughtfulness touched both of us. Thank you. I only wish there was something I could do to help you in your current troubles. Know that you're in my thoughts, and those of many others, I suspect.
To subsumed and PaulBirch ... your most recent weblogs were wonderful. Thank you for your kind wishes, and know you are both so very special to both of us. And yes, a party upon my return sounds like just the thing! With a bit of luck New Year's Eve may even be possible!
To Jezz ... I agree with NotVelvet. You have far more patience with willfull stupidity than I have, for which you are to be admired. (Can't wait until tomorrow, BTW!)
I sympathised with MsKitten's description of the Scales Addiction. I finally just stopped using the silly things, and have had better results (and less anxiety!) by evaluating my relative size by how my clothes fit and by the occasional use of a tape measure. And now, of course, there is ... (fanfare!) the D/s-Corset Diet! My favourite corset is now laced down as tight as it will go. If I discover I need to loosen it, that means I stop eating for a while. But seriously: one of the positive side affects of my getting involved in BDSM has been that I have lost quite a bit of weight, with little conscious effort involved. I'm really not sure why, but I'm certainly not protesting!
Finally, in response to BV's question about whether BDSM is about sex, or ... ? For me, yes, it is about sex, but it's also about quite a bit more: as others have said, it's about spirituality, service, the mental *and* the physical. In a way, I guess I have found that BDSM and D/s (or at least, *our* particular form and practice of BDSM-D/s) seem to eroticise almost every aspect of my life that they touch, transforming the everyday into something very special.
Just as Matou continues, everyday, with every touch, transforming my life into something very special.
