| 29 Jan 09 | Middle Ride before widening Part of the Middle Ride before the overhanging branches were cut back to allow more light to get down to ground level. You can see two of the green-topped canes used to mark out the route in the foreground. | |
| 6 Apr 08 | Pheasant! One of Bridgewood's several pheasants. | |
| 6 Apr 08 | Coppice poles Ash and poplar coppice poles on the edge of the wood, whose high tops clatter against each other when the wind blows.
| |
| 20 May 08 | Cleared woodland ride | |
| 29 Jan 09 | Clearing thickets Part of the Middle Ride, showing the stumps of newly cut thickets. | |
| 25 Mar 09 | Part of the Middle Ride I'm now working on clearing the start of the Middle Ride for vehicle access, especially in the area where there will be space to park, maybe keep a trailer, and store any equipment or materials coming or going from the site. As with the Glade, I'm cutting the trunks up into sections, using them to mark the edges, and stacking the smaller branches beyond them.

| 27 Oct 08 | Tree cross section Cross section of a recently felled poplar tree, about 12 inches in diameter. The central heartwood (which is largely inert), the surrounding sapwood (which transports water and nutrients), and bark are clearly visible. By counting the rings, this tree was about twenty years old. | |
| 30 Jan 09 | Felled tree Featured in this weblog post, which includes a YouTube video of the tree coming down.

| 27 Oct 08 | Felled tree Still showing the shape of the crown laid out on the ground after the branches have been cut off. | |
