Hello there,

Thank you for visiting one's profile. I'm here looking around for more social and sociable kink-friendly occaisions in the city [shyness permitting].

Also, if there are any metallers and classical music lovers about who would be interested in gigging; I am most privvy to coming along. I am aware of lots of great bands playing in the city, but I am a bit apprehensive how the music I like often has a fan base that is quite frightening, I wish less men would pinch my bottom at gigs for instance, or bands promoting self harm...

At the moment, I'm very excited about the proms, I don't know if anyone else likes the proms? I really am looking forward to the Berg/Schoernberg/Strauss/Webern evening! Anyone wish to come with?

These days I'm sending out applications to all sorts of things; living religiously to a pre-planned schedule; not enough-jogging or training blogging and exploring music, reading avidly and various writing tasks. I am currently an office slave/intern (not even a wage slave would you believe..) for a sort-of-charity sort-of-political-policy-influencing sort-of-community organisation in North London, as well as a volunteer with the police (but not a volunteer police officer).

As well as job/intern hunting, I am always on the look out for more freelance writing assignments (especially ones which come with free books). I tutor sometimes for undergraduates and 'A' level students.

Since getting a PhD offer that didn't guarantee funding I'm now in a little bit of an existential crisis where I might be forced to try to publish and disseminate my work independently for want of my head not exploding with idea slush. This is a work in progress still.

Things I like include:

80s action movies and airsofting. If there are any airsofters on IC lets definately talk. I love role playing and holding a gun with various gadgets and tactical gear.

I like romantic (that's 19thC) music, such as (inter alia) Scriabin and Chopin. I'm passionate about music despite my own shortcomings as a musician. Music is fundamentally ideological and a powerful medium for both change and psychological stupour.

I go out of my way to explore things I don't like (that's my interpretation of being 'open minded'). My view is: if you dont understand it, you can't really dislike it.

In past lives I have written articles and given talks on various things: mental health; Kantian aesthetics and philosophy of science; philosophy of social science; environmental philosophy.

Other achievments include: piano recital; a couple of interviews (one relating to BBC radio and a local newspaper respectively) on my secret vigilante life; I sang Tavener's 'The Lamb' at the altar of Westminster Cathederal (I was bass); sang in a barbershop quartet.

It would be nice to hear from other kink-friendly (or just friendly) people from London, or anyone who likes a nice intellectual discussion or riposte. Events suggestions are neat too

I am (in the words of Mark Corrigan) 85% sure I'm straight, although I am obviously infatuated with Alan Johnson types; you know the kind, brass balls, bastards, and a man's man. Dobby types are also utterly fascinating to me unfortunately real Dobbies do not exist...

2. Someone who can help me out with my poor background in non-classical logics or post-lewisian metaphysics (not the kind of maths-debate you were thinking, eh?)
