Discipline and Disciplinary Lifestyle

This group is for discussion and debate of the role of discipline. It is run by @Elle_in_France.

The starting point, and the raison d'être of the group is that discipline can form an important of a Dominant's and a submissive's lifestyle. It can also contribute to a generally happier state of mind for a submissive (or anyone else prepared to cope with being 'punished', for that matter) by creating regular hormone cascades in the brain (endorphins) which give rise to feelings of well-being.

Given three routes into discipline: the Dominant's, the submissive's and those seeking endorphins, discussions of discipline can often fall at cross-purposes. I ask anyone joining this group to be aware of the different levels at which discipline works. My hope is that all three forms can be expressed and represented.

Protocol: I know that for many D/s advocates, capitalisation of the first person is important, and I know that it winds some people up quite badly (eg, i am a slave, He is my Master, W/we like to watch old movies). Personally, I don't go for it, but the group's policy is respect for the individual's preference.

I tend to attribute male gender to the dominant and female to the submissive when writing, as I'm politically very incorrect, and this fits my world-order. But my intention is that you read it whichever way around you see things, and likewise, post in your own world-order.
