UPDATE: Bloody hell, it's been a long time since I rewrote this thing! Partly down to not having been to IC for a while, partly because it's still fairly accurate and didn't need much changing, but mostly because I simply never got round to doing it. That'll change at some point soon, hopefully before I get nicked for false advertising. :p

Hi, I'm Chris. I'm bi (with male preference) and technically switch, though I try not to use labels; nobody agrees on what most of them mean and I'd rather describe myself anyway. F'r example, I enjoy doing things that other people appreciate, but to me that's not so much 'being submissive' as 'not being a selfish asshat' - plenty of doms like to please their partners too, just they tend to do it on their own terms.

As a top I like to take a sensual approach and do things we're both into, rather than something I like but my partner hates just because I'm in control. I get the idea behind the whole enduring-something-you-hate-to-please-your-dom thing, but it all seems a bit 'lie back and think of England' to me. :P I'm especially fond of tie-and-tease with bondage in all its forms, sensation toys, floggers for their versatility, sensory deprivation and using my hands with a variety of gloves to squeeze, scratch and play with different feelings.

I'm less experienced as a bottom and still learning what I'm into, but as a general rule of thumb "do unto others" and all that. I'm definitely more service-oriented than masochistic as I like to please people and help them out, and would love to explore the control side more with the right top/dominant. It's about the personal connection, though - to me, who you are's far more important than what you are, and I could happily be just a top or a bottom instead of switching if everything else worked out between us.

Vanilla-wise I'm a massive music fan, mainly rock/indie and I'll listen to anything from folk music to videogame soundtracks, but bands like Queen and the Stereophonics are a pretty good place to start. I also love driving my car, reading and watching movies (prefer a sci-fi / fantasy / historical bent to both - I'm a geek, so sue me), randomly browsing wikis and learning new stuff, occasional nights out to unwind, dogs and other animals, being around friends and family and I have an irrational fondness for flapjacks and hot chocolate.

At the moment I'm looking for friends and ongoing play partners - as much as I'd like a deeper relationship if one developed out of either, real-life commitments (such as not being able to accomodate) make that difficult right now. I'm not lifestyle, though - when that happens, I'd want it to be one that isn't solely defined by the D/s dynamic, where kink's just one part of it and we can both share in each other's lives.
