I would have preferred to leave this blank but having received some memo's implying I should not post on threads if I do not have a profile, the following should suffice.
I live in the UK having property and land in Scotland and England.
My working life started at the age of sixteen and I am now of pension age. I have worked and paid tax through employment in the public and private sectors and as a serviceman, during which time I was decorated for an action in Northern Ireland.
All of which now makes me entitled to describe myself as a semi retired Author and full time Grumpy Old Man.
I believe everyone is entitled to have their own opinion, authoritative or otherwise, on any subject and I expect them to accept that I am entitled to know they may be wrong.
We should all remember that the written word is interpreted by the reader, and what is understood from the writing says more about the reader than it does about the writer.
My reasons for joining this site are personal, but I have not joined it for the purpose of research or to find a partner, I have one.
If I do not know you, whatever your profile says may be fact, embellishment or pure fiction. I have no way of knowing.
