I have a professional career, my own place and no dependents. I am good company and very civilised, with an ability to laugh at life's trials, find a solution and move on. I have an inquisitive mind and love learning new things - wide interests in science, technology, art and nature.
It annoys me that I'm almost certainly going to miss out on personal jet packs and efficient domestic robots by being born too early.
I probably won't be interested in you if you use the word 'awesome' to describe the mundane. Try not to 'lol' either, if you can avoid it.
I read voraciously and indiscriminately - novels, essays, backs of cereal packets, anything.
Recently read authors:
Philip Pullman (The Good Man Jesus and the Scoundrel Christ - excellent)
Christopher Brookmyre (A Big Boy Did It And Ran Away - hilarious)
Steven Pinker (The Stuff of Thought: Language as a Window into Human Nature - well, half of it anyway)
Jon Ronson (The Psychopath Test - An eye opener)
Dan Gardner (Risk: The Science and Politics of Fear - reassuring)
The best stage show I have seen this year was 'Uncaged Monkeys' the national science tour with Brian Cox, Robin Ince et al, really funny and interesting even though I didn't get the maths jokes.
Music: Pretty much anything if it's live (except Jazz, bloody hate Jazz grr). The best gigs I've been to in the past year were Seasick Steve at the Festival Hall and my friend's punk band in a dodgy pub in Deptford. Don't worry, I had my jabs first.
I don't watch much TV and, in fact, got rid of it for 3 years. I was sick of the dead-eyed feeling you get when you've spent an evening in front of it, such a passive thing. I have one again now, but don't watch it much.
Art I like: Antony Gormley, especially the ones at the GMC building in London and the one in the crypt of Winchester Cathedral. Oh, and that installation on Crosby Beach.
Louise Borgeois' massive spider 'Maman' at Tate Modern, I was delighted when they bought that.
Eye colour: Brown Hair colour: Variable Height: 5ft 5in
