A little about me...

I am Celtic – both by birth and by instinct. I crave the coasts, to feel spray in my face, to feel the wind tugging at my hair. In my mind's eye I am the French Lieutenant's Woman, forever standing into the storm, waiting.

I am artistic – sadly not by talent, but by appreciation. I enjoy art with something to say – Hogarth, Mille, Rosetti. I am unlikely to look at a Picaso or a Jackson Pollock with anything other than a regard for technical ability. I do not decry their work, they just do not speak to me.

I adore Celtic and intricate jewellery. I appreciate craftsmanship and simplicity in all things, from furniture to adornments.

I have an unusual affinity with hares. And bats, with whom I am lucky enough to share my home.

I read. Voraciously. Almost anything, from Andy MacNab to Brecht. Especially with a maritime influence, or the tales of those who have achieved and who inspire. Even Peter Mandelson, a modern day Machiavelli.

I am sure I am really Victorian, although happily foregoing the lack of comforts of that age. I am lucky enough to live in an old house, which has natural place and sympathies for the Arts & Crafts style. Whether small children were better located up chimneys is open for debate.

I contrast this with a similar love of 1920s, '30s and '50s fashions, and have learnt and performed a degree of Burlesque.

I love all things Gothic – not the modern representations for commercial gain, but the original darkness of Stoker at the gates of Whitby, with occasional translation to modern times. The modern “vampire dramas” do very little for me.

I am drawn to Celtic crosses. A small one will shortly be adorning my skin.

I am comfortable with who I am, and have no desire for radical changes other than perhaps small enhancements. I have no deepset need for validation from others, although it is welcome should it be offered naturally and sincerely. Do not be mistaken by any accidents of anatomy – I think, emote, and empathise on a female level. Maleness was never a factor in much, as far as I can remember.

I adore the contradictions of life : a deep craving for the touch of one who will deliver pain amongst the tenderness, the need to seek sanctuary in the eyes of that person and yet see understanding mixed with resolve to continue. The look of approval in suffering. I react to the touch of a caressing hand yet knowing those same fingernails will make me knees buckle. I must feel secure in submitting my mind as well as my body. I commit, and abhor transience. I will yield to your commands because I want to give myself to you, not simply because you utter them.

I appreciate originality in all things, in normal life and elsewhere. I do not enjoy predictability.

I enjoy photography, from more of a subject role than as a creator. I can appreciate the end results of Mr. Fox Talbot's innovation, I do not need to know the workings. If any genuine – please note, genuine – photographers would like to consider a shoot, either on an ethereal or bondage scenario, please contact me.

With those who know me well, I connect on many levels. Those who attempt quick throw away lines, or are in the slightest one-dimensional in their lives, are unlikely to spark my imagination. I protect fiercely those whom I love, respect or admire. Others are likely to fall beside the path.
