Munch Report

May - there were a few less munchers than usual to this one, but it meant there was more time for hugs lol! The sunset was beautiful and the relaxed atmosphere made for a very enjoyable evening. On a personal note, i met some folk for the first time tonight with whom i had been nattering on IC for ages! You know who you are and it was a pleasure!

We hold the munch in a lovely pub, right on the river called The Yacht. For those of you who know Greenwich well, you will know that this is a quiet little pub, right next door to the more touristy and noisy Trafalgar.

FAQ (well this is new but being added to, if you think of something to add to this bit just say...!)

~ (started Nov 08) Very friendly munch which aims to be totally inclusive of all BDSMers whether seasoned Munchers or total newbies.

~ No dress code ie this is a vanilla venue, so please respect our new hosts and keep it that way?!

~ Contacts on the day will be - Gabrielle and Steve (MSlayer), if in doubt look for Bondage Bear who has now taken up residence in the pub and never goes home with Uus now!

~ Meet and greet for first timers and those new to the scene, just send us a message.

~ We have a section of the pub to ourselves, which the whole of the right hand side, rear raised dining area so no need to worry about non scene folk just wandering through...Also oddly, our own ladies' toilet (guys there is one for you too, you just have to go to another bit of the pub)

~ Good selection of beers and wines with special guest beers changed regularly

~ Reasonably priced delicious food.

~ Music - there is quiet background music at this pub, so you can hear yourself and your fellow munchees talk! Don't worry though, no chance of being overheard by Nillas as we are in a separate part of the pub (see above).

~ Fabulous river views!

~ Smoking is allowed in a heated and canopied area just outside the front door. This pub is on a pedestrian only walkway, so you will have no problems with traffic here.

~ There is plenty of parking (see the map on the munch listings page of IC) and it is served well by buses and trains.

~ Cutty Sark DLR is 5 mins walk away - nicest walk is along riverfront

~ If coming by tube & North Greenwich Stn then you can take bus 188 or 129 and get off at the stop after Arches Leisure Centre at a bus stop called Trafalgar Estate. Cross over and walk alongside the old Naval College and the pub is in a small alley next to the Trafalgar pub on the River (2 mins walk from bus stop)

~ Other buses include 177, 180 and 286 so easy to get to from Woolwich, Lewisham, Blackheath, Sidcup and Thamesmead

~ If coming by BR the nearest station is Maze Hill, although Greenwich BR is still zone 2.

~ Why not arrive in style as the Riverboat runs from Central london to Greenwich then a 2 mins walk and it will get you home again afterwards!
