(What happens if you miss the munch)
Hello and welcome to the Croydon munch!

This profile is owned by the organisers of the Croydon Munch.

We meet on the third Thursday of every month at The Bedford Tavern, on the corner of Dingwall Road and Bedford Place, just a short walk from East Croydon station.

Next event 18th December

Future dates are: 18th December (2009 dates will be added shortly)

Here's a map

It starts at 7.30 and is in the private room upstairs so grab a drink from the bar downstairs and head on up. (As you come into the pub, there are two doors - left and right. The stairs up to the munch are on the left and the door to the right leads into the bar)

If you've never been to a munch, please do come and give it a go. We're a really friendly bunch, newcomers are very, very welcome and it could be the start of something great! Several of our regulars started by coming to the Croydon munch and they haven't looked back :-)

If you're driving, some roads around Bedford Place are free to park in but some aren't!! Pay & Display can apply up till midnight so do check and, if necessary, get a ticket, even at that time of night as the traffic wardens do work late in Croydon :-(

In the tradition of munches (why is it called a munch?), any nibbles, either sweet or savoury, would be very welcome (except crisps or peanuts as the pub sells those). It is not obligatory and please don't go overboard. However, any contributions of breadsticks, pitta bread, dips, jaffa cakes, cookies or similar would be very much appreciated :-p

The boring bit: - Dress code and behaviour - If you haven't been to a munch before, please note the following:

Dress The munch is in a private room but it's a vanilla pub so the dress code is strictly 'street clothes' only please! Acres of bare flesh or overly fetish type clothing are perfect for Hades :-) but not for Croydon munch. The pub know who we are and why we are there but that's not a reason to impose our kink on unsuspecting 'nillas.

What to expect The munch is a place for likeminded folk to meet up and have a drink, a laugh and a chat in a pub. Conversations include anything and everything, including the weather (hey, we're in Britain) and possibly even BDSM. The only thing you need to do is join in and you'll soon get to know other people.

Handy Hint If you haven't been before, try to turn up in the first half of the evening i.e. while people are still mingling and saying hello to everyone and before they get deeply engrossed in interesting conversations. If you're there early then it's much easier to be part of that interesting conversation, rather than listening to it.

Unacceptable behaviour The munch is NOT a meat market, nor a place for Dom/mes to strut around showing every sub in the room just how Domly they really are. That belongs in the bedroom, not at a munch. Anyone behaving thus will either get laughed at, be told where to go (with our blessing!) by the sub concerned or asked to leave by the organisers, whichever comes first!

'Play' and other bdsm or sexual activity This is a vanilla munch. Sorry but that means no play whatsoever is allowed, whether it is using toys or not. We have a private room but the bar staff do come up and collect empty glasses. We do not want to offend them!

Does my orientation matter? NO! To be blunt, the vast majority of munch goers do not actually care one iota whether you are male or female, dom, sub or switch, or whether you are into D/s, S/m, bondage and rope or whatever. They will respect your interests (as you should respect theirs) but they are actually interested in getting to know John, Angie, Bill, Susan or whoever (i.e YOU) as a real person.

Privacy Someone's attendance at the munch does not guarantee that they are who they say they are. It is very unusual at a munch to be asked detailed questions about your private life, such as your surname, where exactly you live and who you work for. No-one should feel under any pressure to give such details to a stranger so if in doubt, don't tell them. If some dimbo persists in asking then please refer them to one of the organisers for 're-education'

.

If you come to the munch and feel unsure about anything at all, please speak to the organisers at the time so we can answer your query there and then. It's no help to you or us mentioning something long after the event.

.

We may not be the biggest munch around, nor in the poshest venue but Croydon munchers are a lovely bunch of people who have a great time and will make you very welcome indeed :-)
