| What I need in life right now is some direction. I'm lost in limbo land between worlds and it, quite frankly, is not sitting well with me. I am not used to not having goals I can aim for. | It's been a year of changing the rules by which I conduct my life. Some of these changes have been small, others large. Some of these changes have been brought about by introspective moments, others as a result of my interaction with others. Some of these changes have been rapid, others have been gradual, some have an air of permanency, others of transience, but whatever the changes one thing has remained consistent, something that I cherish, my ability to adapt to it all without losing who I am. | It's been nearly nine months since myself and my former Master parted company. Nine months of healing, nine months of rediscovering who I am. Nine months putting the pieces of me back together and of taking stock on what I want. Nine months of trying to figure out if I'm ready or not for a serious relationship or not, or if indeed I ever will be. Nine whole months of uncertainty, of not really having much of a direction. | I knew it wasn't going to be your average wedding. Well with my big sister as the bride how could it be? But when the couple enter the Dutch equivalent of a registry office to the strains of Led Zeplin, then you know it's not going to be your average wedding. I think I consumed more alcohol over the space of four days than in the past four years. Thankfully I have a very efficient liver and, as per usual, nary a hangover in sight. All in all I spent from Wednesday to Sunday partying and loved every moment despite everything in my body, especially my feet, aching from all the dancing. To cut [more...] | ||

| Well I'm off to Amsterdam tomorrow and I won't be back until Monday. My big sister's wedding is the occasion, so no side trips to cafes or the seedier parts of the city. The upside is the reception is a free bar and I'm hoping my sister has had the decency to make sure there's some good red wine on the go and/or some drinkable cognac otherwise I'm going to be pretty much sober. | I know what it means to me. For me it is a check-list, my responsibilities down in an undisputable format. I normally have a good memory but when it comes to agreements made to be something or do something all the time, I can turn into a bit of a gold-fish brain. Normally I think this is because it's normally things said in the heat of the moment when I'm either very emotionally charged or in that floaty, spacey, place I get to during play. A contract for me is a way of ensuring that both parties have something to refer to, not as a millstone or an inflexible set of rules but as guidelines. [more...] | ||

| The Hunger is upon me, no I'm not referring to some sort of Vampiric desire for blood, but to my need for serious submission and not just a few hours play. It's a need that if I'd known would only deepen with time, leave me withdrawal symptoms worse than when I tired to quit coffee and chocolate at the same time (later opted for sensible option of just cutting down on both), and generally become a major driving force in my selection of both playmates and prospective long term partners, then I'd have left it at curiosity and filed it under the selection of things not to try even once, like Crack [more...] | ||

| I saw one of the most amazing sights in my life the other day on my way home from work. It wasn't something kinky or sexual, or even as might be expected, something geeky. It was simply a family of animals surviving in the last place one would expect, on the embankments of a railway line in the middle of Glasgow. Nothing unusual there you might think, but when you enter the fact that this was a family of deer into the equation it changes things a bit. [more...] | ||

| Tonight as my plans for the evening fell through, I decided to embark on lesson two in my wine appreciation course. Previously not having looked to see what kind of wine bottle two of my present from the other day was, I examined the label. Aghast I saw it was again Cabernet Sauvignon! | Well it began tonight. I met with a friend of mine who had vowed to help me with my ambition of acquiring a taste for red wine. I'm not a wine drinker, well not yet, my usual tipples are Islay single malts (well anything with a bit of peaty character to it really) and cognac or, if I'm out to get drunk, Goldschlager. So I reckoned with tastes like that it was surprising I hadn't yet gotten a taste for wine, especially reds. [more...] | ||
