| 20 Sep 09 | Women Cross-dressing? (5) | (26 Sep 09, 1:23 PM by emark) |
| Susan_Williams said on a thread about cross-dressing that 80% of men have cross-dressed at least once. Which immediatly made me wonder, how many women cross-dress. Which then made me think, what would that look like? [more...] | ||

| The New York Times recently reported that stress can make you repetitive. One example that was given was that if someone failed in a try-out for Modern Dance, they might practice more, but after 12000 rejections they might come to the conclusion that modern dance isn't a field they should go into and practicing isn't the coping mechanism it's supposed to be. | 30 Jul 09 | I hate snobs | (30 Jul 09, 6:37 PM by skyfox) |
| In an attempt to avoid the reality of how filthy our house is and how badly I need to do housework of various kinds, I am indulging in some quality internet time (which I've been avoiding for the past few weeks for various reasons), and have come across the best discussion of music snobbery following An AV Club article of You rarely get a second chance to make a first impression: 23 pop songs that lived twice (or more). | 9 Dec 08 | Seattle Pansexual BDSM Play Party: Review (3) | (24 Jul 09, 3:32 PM by TheProf) |
| Last year, Sukebe and I did some research on the BDSM scene before visiting Oregon and Washington (USA), and while it did reveal some fruitful results, we did not attend a play party. This year, however, we dug up Seattle BDSM scene gold: we attended the Center for Sex-Positive Culture (CSPC) Pansexual BDSM Play Party and got to talk with an old girlfriend of mine who is in the BDSM scene. | 23 Jul 09 | Art in Glasgow | (23 Jul 09, 5:39 PM by skyfox) |
| We were on holiday recently and took an afternoon in Glasgow to see some art. We went specifically for the Giacomo Brunelli photographic exhibition "The Animals". It was in Street Level Photoworks on King Street, a brightly lit studio hidden behind a buzzered door and a grungy stairwell. The exhibition was pretty good. He does black and white pictures of animals, dead and alive. The photograph used to advertise the exhibition is one of a somewhat devilish looking dog snarling behind a fence with eerily glowing eyes. One of my favourite pieces was the one of the dead mouse, upside down and in silouette, [more...] | ||

| It's a cool day, but I still like to leave the patio door opened to get some fresh air in. But with our garden, we get a lot of flying insects of various kinds. Right now a bumblebee has mistakenly flown into the living room and is buzzing pointlessly against the other glass door. [more...] | ||

| 7 Jun 09 | Sex Advice in Dubai | (7 Jun 09, 5:09 PM by skyfox) |
| Great article talking about sex in Islamic countries interviewing a woman who wrote a book about sex in Arabic discussing fellatio, female orgasm, and other sex acts and how nice they can be. Even though she is against homosexuality (because Islam forbids it), the fact that a woman would write so openly about the topic has shocked the public and the publishing of her book has given rise to death threats from conservatives. It's a small thing, writing a book on how to enjoy sex, but it shows the importance of education. | ||
| 10 Apr 09 | OT - Tibet (9) | (7 Jun 09, 12:56 PM by skyfox) |
| "Free Tibet". What utter nonsense! The phrase should be "Free China". The Tibetans suffer no differently than any other Chinese minority culture or even the Han Chinese who are the general "ruling class" majority. I don't give a rat's arse if Tibet "has always been a part of China" or not. I'm not even sure if the Dali Lama is a better option than the communists or not. But the fact remains that every citizen of China is victim to censorship, one-party rule, and all manner of human rights violations. I am sick of all the "Free Tibet" BS you see at every Chinese event. It's a red herring. It detracts [more...] | ||

| My mother asked what I wanted for Christmas last year, and I said, "my books". So she's been posting me my kilos and kilos of books from the US. It's a slow process, but it means it's a little like Christmas every month or so with reminders of how intelligent and well-read I was/am. Anyway, debates about how many of these I've read since she's posted them aside, this time she sent (perhaps accidentally) two of the journals I kept while I was living in Taiwan. [more...] | ||
