| 2 Sep 05 | Read My Lips (3) | (3 Sep 05, 12:02 AM by caras) |
| So many topics to blog about, so little time to write them. I had planned to write something several days ago, and I'd even started scribbling something down, but got sidetracked, as so often happens. [more...] | ||
| 21 Aug 05 | Every kinda people (2) | (21 Aug 05, 10:02 AM by larra_uk) |
| I am fascinated to see all the different types of people and their experiences, and how deeply people are affected by their experiences. As much as anything, though, I am fascinated by how open people are in sharing their feelings. I have read several posts lately from people who are truly baring their soul, revealing their innermost feelings. Equally, I have read postings of the most extraordinarily egotistical nature, screaming "me, me, me". I have promised myself that, much as the ego trippers puzzle me (in the sense of "how can anyone really think anybody else buys this crap"), I will say [more...] | ||

| 11 Aug 05 | Hopelessly Devoted To Them (1) | (11 Aug 05, 5:20 PM by Mel_SnM) |
| I've been thinking, after some recent postings on the web boards, about the way in which I interact with my kids over my personal life. Of course any of us with children have a difficult balancing act between living our lives the way we wish and fulfilling our obligations to our children. [more...] | ||
| 28 Jul 05 | If You Know What I Mean | (28 Jul 05, 2:00 AM by relaxed1) |
| In a very agreeable conversation I had the other day, I made some off the cuff remark about something being "normal". I was challenged to define "normal". It wasn't anything that I'd really thought of before. I've always thought of myself as being normal - whilst recognising that many others won't think so. Anyway, I just rolled off the following, which seemed to fit the purpose. [more...] | ||
| 24 Jul 05 | Wouldn't it be nice... (10) | (24 Jul 05, 11:16 PM by relaxed1) |
| I have been mightily heartened by some of the recent postings on the web boards. The one I have especially (and most recently) enjoyed has been with regard to replies to memos. It appears that a significant bone of contention is that plenty of people, predominantly dominant, consider themselves too important to respond to memos from people they consider of no interest. | I am profoundly saddened by the suggestions that there is some way that the present appalling events could have been prevented by mass deportation of protestors in previous events (Satanic Verses, etc etc). I have always been proud of the tradition in this country (my country of both birth and ancestry, in case anyone was wondering) of freedom of speech. It's what allows any of us to sit here spouting pretty much whatever we like without fear of any consequences. It's also what allowed the Greenham Common protestors to make their case, as for the Hunt Supporters and the Anti Hunt lobby. [more...] | ||

| Anybody who's looked at my blog list might have noticed a theme in the headings, in that they're all songs titles. It wasn't really intentional to start with, just that I'm nearly always listening to music when I'm sitting at my PC, and a lot of the time when I'm not. It just happened that my first blog entry was prompted by thoughts that gelled with a song I happened to be listening to. Since then I've been scanning my iPod to find a title that is appropriate to what I'm thinking about. [more...] | ||
| 18 Jul 05 | Think twice... (8) | (19 Jul 05, 9:17 PM by caras) |
| I'm getting better, I think. It's a bit of a problem being me sometimes. I have an opinion on most things, and I love a good discussion, but of course not everyone else does. In fact, many people who ask for comments really have no interest in hearing anyone else's opinion, they simply seek validation of their own position. [more...] | ||
| 13 Jul 05 | Missing | (13 Jul 05, 11:17 PM by relaxed1) |
| Having just had my second enforced 24 hour net absence in a week, I've enjoyed the opportunity to reflect on what I miss when it's not there. I'm one of those odd people who have my PC on pretty much whenever I'm at home and awake, not necessarily sitting at it, but it's there. I suppose you could say it's my link to the world beyond that which I can immediately touch. (Or my security blanket I suppose!). [more...] | ||

| 11 Jul 05 | Whatever Gets You Through The Day (2) | (11 Jul 05, 10:08 PM by relaxed1) |
| It's always a delight to see the great diversity of opinion of IC. Having just read an interesting exchange on the rights and wrongs of tv/ts referring to themselves as dommes, I feel again reassured in the differences that make life worth living (and many of which I have enjoyed at one time or another, and more that I will, no doubt, one day). | 10 Jul 05 | Yours Truly, Confused N10 (3) | (10 Jul 05, 8:31 PM by MissyG) |
| As an occasional mathematician, I am often curious about the origin and reliability of statistics (and their inference). Of course, anything anecdotal adds an additional twist to it (and layer of unreliability, I suspect), but nevertheless, I find myself musing on the underlying reality. [more...] | ||
| 9 Jul 05 | Men in Black (3) | (9 Jul 05, 11:07 PM by tamed_oceanuk) |
| Having never been to any fetish clubs, I was reading the details for one with interest. It specified a dress code of leather, rubber, fetish – not unreasonably – or, as an alternative, black. It occurred to me that I have never felt the desire to wear anything in particular for play. Not that I would dismiss those who do as simply wearing fancy dress. I certainly like the smell of leather, but I've never found it especially erotic. Rubber is a curiosity, but not something that I've experimented with. So it comes down to black. Well, I wear a fair bit of black anyway, so it's no great adventure. [more...] | ||
| 7 Jul 05 | You've Got A Lot To Answer For (4) | (7 Jul 05, 11:39 PM by KinkLondon) |
| it occurs to me that the one thing you rarely get is any honest, constructive criticism of your profile. people breeze through and look at it, maybe only the briefest of glances, and say nothing (of course, most will be looking out of idle curiosity, as we all do, and as such have no particular view). wouldn't it be interesting for people to feel able to comment on a profile without it meaning anything? i have to confess that i do this from time to time. | 7 Jul 05 | Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before (1) | (7 Jul 05, 7:31 PM by dimsum) |
| i love the eclectic nature of the posts on the web boards. my personal favourite so far is the one that seems unwilling to lay down and die "Are all old men perverts ?". It's a quite beautiful thing to see so much discussion kicked off by what is, in the context of IC, a rhetorical question. i suppose the initial point was probably aimed at the doubtless crass approach of some, but beneath it all is the essential truth that, in the eyes of the general population, we are all perverts. and we generally feel something is missing in our lives when perversion is absent. | 6 Jul 05 | dazed and confused (2) | (7 Jul 05, 12:11 AM by MrHoppy) |
| well, having signed up on IC a few days ago, i'm starting to find my way around. it's generally a damned sight friendlier than many other sites of all types on the net. one thing that's impressed me is how genuinely nice and supportive everyone is towards each other. sure there's a few gripes and groans, but nothing like the crap you so often come across.
