I've always considered myself to be someone who works hard to get the best things I can out of life. I've been like this both before and with Master. | Some things which were removed form me near the start of the relationship, i 'grieved' for. I had periods of really really sobbing and feeling upset about and distressed about not having access to my bank card, or not being allowed to call someone by their name directly. | I'm thinking here more of live-in 24/7 type tpe/ie situations, although obviously others are welcome to offer their pearls of wisdom. What when Master/Mistress has the 'flu; or more importantly, shows the symptoms of a long term health condition, which possibly affects the M. role? I have a very good friend who suffers from recurrent depressive outbursts, often characterised by periods of what might best be called 'temper tantrums', when he has periods in which effectively filling the M. role might be problematic. | This month's O&P Open in Manchester went so well at Taurus that we're going to move to a regular pattern of alternate months, starting in February. In particular, the venue are fully aware of what we're about (they repost the announcements I make on Facebook on their wall!) and very supportive, and the private room has a lot of potential. | As time goes on in my relationship, i find myself becoming somewhat of a drip. If i forget the shopping list, i have a mini panic and feel all uneasy. If i can't get the kettle to work, i have a little cry. If someone is rude to me, i take it to heart. These little things never used to bother me. | During 2010 the O & P group has grown and developed and as a result now Manchester and London meetings have taken place. Other suggestions have been put forward although not yet brought to fruition in entirety. Is it time to start planning for the new year and if so what are your aspirations? | ||

| Most relationships need good communication to work well, and I believe this is especially true of O&P relationships. What things have you used to keep communication open, particularly at difficult times. Long walks? Diaries? Discussing posts other people have made? Talking at the dinner table? Post-it notes on the fridge?
Has this helped, and if so how? Do some things work better for you than others? [more...]
