| I was relaxing on the sofa earlier tonight with Mrs GUF's head in my lap, after a very successful dinner of garlic and herb tortellini with chicken in a pesto sauce. First time I've made pesto sauce myself, pine nuts, basil, and extra virgin olive oil, and garlic, at least I think you add garlic, wasn't totally sure but I did in the end, and never experimented with pasta AND chicken before. | You should have seen the sight that greeted my eyes this morning. I got up about 10.30ish, opened my curtains and there was Mrs GUF walking along the front garden path running parallel to my bedroom window. She was dressed in dark grey boots, brown trousers, a lovely blue/grey lightweight cotton jacket, buttoned up, with a mandarin collar, and had a green shawl round her shoulders like a cloak, fixed with a small circular gunmetal-coloured broach, not centrally but on her left hand side. | I slept in this morning, and dreamt a quite familiar sort of dream - I was walking through a built-up urban area, towards late afternoon, the light already fading. I was crisscrossing backstreets, going down steps, skirting large red-bricked municipal buildings, catching my dark reflection in panes of glass, coming out into open spaces and walking alongside wide roads, passing shops, searching for second hand bookshops I knew were in the area somewhere because I had visited them in the past, and remembered them, their dusty interiors piled high and cramed low with old books - though I never find [more...] | ||
