| 28 Mar 09 | Blog. Why? (4) | (29 Mar 09, 1:51 PM by Lee_Van_Spunkenfrick) |
| So here I am, in the post munch happy place that exists after the hangover has been shaken off and the requirement to do anything work related is still no more than a distant blur, and it occurred to me that I'd like to write a blog about something. Then I forgot what I was going to blog about and instead got to wondering, why do I blog in the first place? Why does anybody blog? Is it vanity? Is it to entertain? Is it to show off? [more...] | ||

| 19 Mar 09 | How long til the UK goes the same way? (1) | (19 Mar 09, 6:10 PM by DaddysTouch) |
| One of my pet fears is that the government, under the banner of protecting children, would quite cheerfully start censoring the Internet in general. It's not too hard once the systems are in place to start blocking all sorts of sites for the thinnest of reasons, and when the population care more about asinine celebrities than anything else where's the harm politically? So with this thought in mind I've been keeping an eye on the Australians whose government have the most draconian Internet control policy outside of China. [more...] | ||
| 17 Mar 09 | Help with something topical/technical (3) | (17 Mar 09, 9:47 PM by Doghouse_Reilly) |
| Lo bods, got a question I'd ask here, since we have many folks both technical and tuned into issues of civil liberties, for a work related thing. Anywho can you think of any examples of government crack downs, or at least constraints, upon freedom on the Internet? [more...] | ||
| 15 Mar 09 | What to do when women don't respond (15) | (17 Mar 09, 9:21 PM by biglittlegirl) |
| Because there have been many posts lately about why women don't respond to memos I have decided for the good of society, to explain the top list of things that a guy should do, in the event of not being replied to. These sure fire tips will instantly ingratiate you with the object of your unrequited affections. [more...] | ||
| 13 Mar 09 | Geeking out (25) | (14 Mar 09, 9:40 AM by Doghouse_Reilly) |
| Some people like to wrap themselves in Egyptian cotton sheets, sip vintage wine and listen to Vivaldi. Others like to jump out of planes with nothing to prevent the skwunching of their bones but a parachute. Others take copious amounts of drugs and never step off Cloud Nine except when the munchies come calling. [more...] | ||

| 11 Mar 09 | How Scotland got fucked (4) | (11 Mar 09, 4:22 PM by Doghouse_Reilly) |
| Have to say I'm amazed that the BBC ever made this documentary, although it did have to get make for a tiny new Gaelic BBC channel. Given that at heart the BBC is still the state broadcasting network there's no way in hell they'd ever make this documentary in English, let alone show it in England. [more...] | ||
| 21 Feb 09 | The Lurgi (7) | (21 Feb 09, 10:01 PM by Doghouse_Reilly) |
| It has me. A full blown case of manflu. I'm probably going to be feeling well below par for at least forty eight hours. Runny nose. Bouts of coughing. Sore throat. The occasional Force Ten sneeze. It's literally the worse thing that has ever befallen anybody. [more...] | ||
| 12 Feb 09 | The Criminal Justice Industry (4) | (13 Feb 09, 7:58 AM by exoticarose) |
| There was a blog on this kind of subject a while back, and I replied on it that there are inherent problems with any justice system where you end up effectively having an industry based around crime as, for want of a better term, a cash crop. Where you have a system where people are legally getting rich from the proceeds of crime, either by it's pursuit or in it's punishment, then you've got a problem. [more...] | ||

| 5 Feb 09 | Facepalm (3) | (5 Feb 09, 8:56 PM by Sara_86) |
| Looking through IC today I was just stunned by how dense it seemed to be. Sort it out people, this is not nearly entertaining enough. Everybody likes a good bit of banter, maybe a bit of a flame war, but the last few days has seen IC descend to the intellectual level of a monkey driving a clown car on the set of an Adam Sandler film. | ||

| 20 Jan 09 | Footballers are only in it for the money? (16) | (20 Jan 09, 3:24 PM by Kate_screamer) |
| Apparently not, at least not Brazilian midfield ponce Kaka. Despite being offered half a million pounds a week, plus a signing fee of several million, he's decided he's happier where he is. Half a million quid a week may not sound like much these days, most banks lose than in about fifteen minutes, but that's double what Beckham earns in LA, and three times what any other premiership footballer earns. | 19 Dec 08 | Cleaning house, metaphorically speaking | (19 Dec 08, 12:23 PM by Doghouse_Reilly) |
| Well in a few weeks it's crunch time with the new law and in general I figure this is probably as good a time as any to acknowledge that maybe it's time to cave to good old fashioned societal trends and go with the flow. It'd be nice to be openly out and about like so many people on here are, but realistically that means I could get into bother with the law and of course it would effectively preclude me having any sort of career worthy of the name. | 23 Nov 08 | Still not done being happy about the BNP's misery (70) | (25 Nov 08, 8:35 AM by frogman) |
| So it's been debated back and forth here and all over the place for quite some time. The dreaded BNP members list. I think the conclusion that most folks have reached is that the publishing of the names and addresses of BNP members is entirely justified and a comedy classic of modern politics. [more...] | ||
