A term similar in meaning to Novice, granted by a Master or Mistress to somebody who has successfully completed the postulant phase of their training.
The terms Postulant and Novice are used within a sector of the BDSM community, that base the progression of a relationship between a Dominant and a Submissive on the formal advance of the Submissive from postulant status, through to being a noviciate, to being given full recognition as the Master or Misstresses recognised submissive / slave.
The ranks and orders of progression involved are based on those historically applicable to people who wished to devote their entire lives to the pursuit of religion knowledge and service.
