ICcode for "Munches"

A [b]munch[/b] is an informal meeting of people interested in 
[about=BDSM]BDSM[/about]/[about=fetish]fetish[/about] - an opportunity 
to meet like-minded people, talk, find out about good [about=clubs]
clubs[/about] or fetish [about=shops]shops[/about], pass on advice or 
generally network.  For many, it's their first foray into the scene.  
Most munches take place in pubs or similar non-fetish venues.  They're
almost always "[about=vanilla]vanilla[/about]" - i.e. ordinary clothes
and no play.

They began in the 1980s, when a member of the USENET group
alt.sex.bondage organised a quiet meeting in a Santa Clara (CA, USA)
cafe. [b]Munch[/b] is short for "burger munch", when later gatherings
were held at Kirk's Steakburgers in Palo Alto, CA. The term is also used
by the
[about=Swinging]swinging[/about] community so if unsure of what type of
munch is being 
promoted, it is worth confirming.

The first munch held in the UK was Sunday July 3rd, 1994, in London.
