I'm fascinated by the mental impact of sensory deprivation, and would love to explore it! No pain, no gain.

I am occasionally taken to a couple of clubs completely blind and deaf. I have an mp3 player covered with ear defenders and a blindfold. My hands are tied together and i have to be led everywhere.
It means that there are two clubs (actually three now) of which i know nothing of the inside. I've not seen any of the interior except for one toilet cubicle. I don't know if i'm in a small intimate private room on our own, or whether i'm on full public display. I never know what sort of equipment i'm being led towards, or who else is coming with us.
It's very scary, but also very exciting. I often have a kind of "march to the scaffold" feeling of impending sacrificial doom.
And i love it Saint Severin, the benchmark by which purity, holiness & normality are measured.

I love playing with the senses as they are so truly powerful. Others get really confused when hearing is taken away for a period of time along with vision or another sense.
Most interesting documentary tonight on Horizon. Didnt realise the brain would be so easily influenced (more so to men it was proven in the programme) in only 48hrs. Very interesting programme. "Everyone is a potential naked slave to you once you become a trainer".

The most fascinating thing I ever read about sensory deprivation was it's use in interrogation. Apparently back in the days of East Germany, the Stasi did a huge amount of experiments with sensory deprivation.
Their favourite was a specially constructed tank, sealed with rubber to cut out sound, air was filtered in and the tank was filled with a saline solution to keep whoever was in it afloat.
The idea was to cut off sound, sight and any sense of balance. From what I read they used to get people to crack within 24 hours.
Now imagine that for a sensory deprivation scene! You would turn your sub/slave to gibberish!!! It doesn't take a rocket scientist to be a rocket scientist...

This is somthing I spotted on BBC news.com, first thing I thought of was pervery. Funny how the kinky mind works | Me too - where do I sign up! (And in some cases it says they get paid - probably the only chance a guy will get to pro-sub...)
I love it, though it's more to do with the idea of being locked up, than the sensory deprivation. Either way, it's more effective to be somewhere that seems like a "cell", rather than say, being stuck in a normal room of your house.
I have done it once for a few hours, but unfortunately it's not something I've had the opportunity to do so again
[Also, technically it probably doesn't count as continual sensory deprivation, when certain people were coming in and using/abusing me But I was left for at least an hour continually.]
| I mean, he or she could control lights | I love this too - indeed, having the lights on all the time is also a turn on, if it's out of my control.http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/extreme-images/

Does it matter what kind of music is playing and how loud it is?

I was once led around Bagleys at Kings Cross in total sensory deprivation.
I wore my all in one rubber suit with zip-up hood, ear plugs and ear defenders, had my hands manacled behind my back and my feet tied together. Quite how long I was like this, who saw me or where we went I don't know, but it was superb, the feeling on not knowing was was happening next. Rubber Roy

I don't think that is necessarily the dark that scares me, but being left alone.
I have done sensory deprivation with being in the dark, and also white noise on headphones, and it took me to a spaciness that I had not experienced before, it felt very tranquil. That is really the only way I could explain it. I don't know if it was hours and hours, but it did feel like it was.
Would it have been different if someone/people had not been there, I suspect so.
As for the size of the room. It was a club. I don't know about a smaller space, that actually make me feel more at ease, who knows.
Maybe that is the next step

I use a large crate lined with foam and topped up with foam crumb on my lab rats. Various tools such as painted out goggles, mp3 player/pc + headphones and boxing gloves help complete the treatment.
I would like to use water - a large bathtub - but how to keep the water at an appropriate temperature? Just running in water creates noise/vibration and movement sensations.
Are there any safe and affordable thermostatically controlled devices out there? "He took a single sip of her pain and found it exquisite"
