Two within a month, from the same OP, with a very sneery tone in the second one, both so very concerned for our taxes and mentioning housing benefits, etc. Not a direct accusation, but a very cleverly worded one.

ETA: They really *do* have a bee in their bonnet, don't they?

http://www.informedconsent.co.uk/boards/mistress...

And posts like this one don't help!

ETA: That which started it all, apparently. http://www.informedconsent.co.uk/boards/mistress... Not only anti-Pro-Domme, but out and out offensive.

This is a classic example of trolling with inflammatory bias and accusation, rather than an attempt to start a civilised discussion about professional domination.

The OP says: "is a Pro Domme not just taking advantage of vunerable men? using there submissive nature mearly for there own gain? and if not why is is right to charge sooo much?"

Which is no more YKINOK than saying D/s is just a game and that subs have all the power. They're controversial and naturally unwelcome points of view, but we don't shut either of them down.

Ah okay.

I would liken it to someone saying that M/f is when a dominant man is taking advantage of a vulnerable female for his own selfish needs and wants and then further liken it to a sort of sex slavery.

I suppose it all depends on your POV.

(And he was banned in December for sock-puppetry on this board, incidentally.)

But those OPs are not YKINOK posts. At worst, they imply that some pros do not declare all of their income.

"A male friend has provisionally booked a session with a pro domme in central London next week. Her buying new clothes and extra toys tribute is £100 per hour so, are there any dommes in central London who can under-cut this quote."

How is that "out and out offensive"?

It's like someone asking if M/f is dominant men taking advantage of vulnerable women.

We don't shut down those threads either.

It is offensive because the only profession that is constantly ripped apart on this site is pro-domming.

I haven't seen anyone making snidey comments about fetish models, photographers, site membership, furniture makers, toy makers etc etc

These other professions also don't get asked to justify their costs, their fees, asked if they pay tax etc etc

It's the Her buying new clothes and extra toys tributethat's offensive, right up there with housing benefit comments and tax reminders. I notice they didn't post it on the business board for those others in a BDSM related business, or indeed on the main off topic board for everyone to get a reminder. Either they're really concerned for us poor Pro-Dommes, or they're having a very pointed if partially disguised, dig.

And yes, you did ban them. Eventually. I cited it as a classic case of the type of person who tries to be clever, but keeps up a sustained attack of constant digs. Similar to TVP who also got thrown off if I remember rightly?

A lot of them have learned that they cannot just out and out attack, as that gets complaints sent to you and they get a warning or whateveras well as getting jumped on not only by Dom/mes, but by subs, too. Not that it stops them trying.

A thread that reminded black people, Jews or those on benefits about their tax returns wouldn't have been tolerated, yet one that reminded Pro-Dommes in such a snide fashion was. And this is one of the reasons why we feel aggrieved, it feels like there is a double standard at play.

On a further note, I mentioned this post, which is so blatantly "if you go to see Pro-Dommes you're stupid", and yet it still stands there. Someone else who had attacked Pro-Dommes and in fact their clients and got away with it. Definitely a case of YKINOK, yet it stays there, showing people that it's ok to slam not only the Pro-Dom/mes but those who go to them.

Sorry, this: http://www.informedconsent.co.uk/boards/mistress... post.

It is a fair point - I've never seen any threads asking Mark Varley if he declares all his income from photography, for example? Or asking Master Chopper if he claims benefits while making anal suspension hooks. Nor suggesting that Roissey workshops may be dining on Big Macs or kebabs. It does seem that there is an air of Pro-Domming being fair game, and the site appearing to support that point of view.

ETA: Just realised, I've never seen anyone tell them that they're sex workers, either...

Sorry, this: http://www.informedconsent.co.uk/boards/mistress... post.

But it doesn't say "if you go to see Pro-Dommes you're stupid", it says "Some so called " Dommes " seem to think they can get away with charging £250 per hour, especially in London. Oh, and some sort of gift from their " wish list " on top. Frightening, really, but I guess that some people must be stupid enough to pay it."

ie that paying £250/hour is stupid

It's a bit like the threads about Coco de Mer claiming their prices are stupid (threads that we don't remove either.)
