I think that the whole idea that people seem to be putting across with this whole Max Mosley thing (or, maybe it's the way I'm reading it) is that we should all be thankful for Mosley getting caught cause look at how wonderful it is that kink is finally getting some not so negative publicity?

I don't get that, sorry. If he's the public face of this then I'm very worried. His links to fascism, to me, are clear. If his past is so abhorrent that even the Daily Mail (who I hate with a passion) finds his politics less than tasteful, then I really think the less association something I enjoy gets with him the better. (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-553408/U...)

It's already been said, but there is more to life than kink, and the right to life and to live free from persecution outweighs that, always. The kind of poison that Mosley's Dad and the Union Movement that Max is proved to have had involvement in, have no time for that. Also, lets not forget that fascist deplored not just Jews, but homosexuals, gypsies, priests poles, socialists, Jehovah's Witnesses and German's themselves, many for being disabled. (http://www.holocaust-history.org/questions/non-j...) The idea that somehow, just cause he's kinky, I have a lot to thank him for…. That's almost like saying, because I don't agree with American foreign policy, I must thank Osama bin Laden for 9/11.

Oh, and as for those that think fascism isn't a threat anymore… local election results, the London Assembly result especially, would suggest otherwise.

be nice, people!

There is also a point of view which may be equally or more valid: that if someone with such odious family connections and who may have had a less than wonderful past is entitled to privacy, then so should anyone.

So what? Are you suggesting that people should not be permitted to believe what they like, no matter how silly, outlandish or hateful that might be? If that is indeed what you would want, how would you police it?

So one or two nutters were elected? They'll soon be out when the voters realise that they couldn't even run a whelk stall.

Yawn ..

Are you ever going to join the rest of us in the 21st Century?????

Or are you going to ignore 'the facts' and forever dredge up rumours about what may or may nor have happened 40+ years ago?

Master Craftsman and the rest of you lot. Has ANYONE suggested that the gutter press have a right to "out" the sexual proclivities or pecadillos of anyone with odious political leanings?

I've just read right through all the Moseley threads, and the answer is "no".

Has anyone suggested that such people should not have the same legal protection as everyone else. Again the answer is "no".

So what point are you making?

It was suggested that we should all be thankful to Max Moseley for the "positive publicity" his case against the News of the Screws (a personal action not directly concerned with anyones freedom but Moseley's) has given to the world at large of BDSM.

It has been argued that the impression given to the general public of BDSM as a world populated by known former (and possibly current) fascist sympathisers getting their rocks off on holocaust re-enactment is not a positive one that any of us should celebrate or wish to be associated with - a direct argument against the OP's premise. So much for all this crap about threads being "hijacked".

So go on, what is your justification for all this personal bile against anyone who has supported this view?

Just what axe have you got to grind?

I AM THE GOD OF HELL-FIRE!.....but its my lunch break right now

Not any more.

But thank you for having confirmed that you post only to attract attention to yourself, or to try to irritate others.

Of course noone is allowed to disagree with you cos you might be a tiny bit wrong are they?
